POLICE are seeking a man in a white van who made racist comments to a schoolgirl.
The 14-year-old was at a bus stop near the Calcot Sainsbury's when the man approached her.
Getting out of the Ford Transit Connect-style vehicle he then hurled racial abuse at the girl before leaving.
He has been described as mixed race, around 6ft tall, clean shaven and of a muscular build.
He was last seen wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up and Nike trainers.
Police are treating the incident, which took place at 7.15am on Monday, as a racially aggravated public order offence.
Investigating Officer, PC Elliot Male of Newbury police station said: "We do not tolerate racist behaviour and will investigate it thoroughly. I am appealing for any witnesses who were at the bus stop at the time to come forward."
