A TILEHURST school landed a piece of life-saving equipment last week.
MMB Education donated a defibrillator to Springfield Primary School, after winning a charity auction set up by Arrhythmia Alliance Lily-May Page Trust.
Lily-May died of sudden arrhythmia death syndrome last year, aged five.
Her mother, Claire Page, set up the trust to ensure schools in the area have the equipment and training to ensure the safety of children.
Sarah East, headteacher at the Barton Road school, said she was delighted with the donation, adding: "We really appreciate the generosity.
"We have put a notice in our newsletter asking parents to make donations to the trust.
"We are the first school in the West Berkshire area to receive a defibrillator."
Maxine Duffet, from MMB education, said: "Choosing this school was a process of elimination. Our sister company had children at this school so that's why we chose Springfield.
"We are hoping to do more work with the trust in the future."
Ms Page said she was delighted that MMB won the donation, and was pleased to see the defibrillator go to another Reading school.
