AN ARSON investigation has been launched after a car was torched in Whitley last night.
Firefighters doused the blazing Ford Fiesta after the alarm was raised at around 11pm but the car was declared a "write-off".
The car had been left in a resident car park in Heroes Walk, Whitley.
No other vehicles or property were damaged.
Crew manager Martin O'Keefe, of Whitley Wood fire station, said: "The front of the car was well alight when we got there and the passenger compartment was as well.
"It is suspected as arson and the investigation has been passed on to Thames Valley Police.
"The car was written off."
