Nigella Lawson recipe books are a staple in many a home and she is adding to her collection and launching it to fans in Reading.

The Domestic Goddess will be at Waterstones in Broad Street on Tuesday October 20 from 5pm. She will be signing copies of the latest recipe book she has compiled, 'Simply Nigella', that is the tenth book she has released and will feature recipes for busy lives that can "soothe and uplift".

Waterstones is launching a competition with the Reading Chronicle for one lucky winner to get a signed recipe book of Simply Nigella: Feel Good Food.

A spokesman for Waterstones said they were "excited" to have the popular television chef coming to the town and expected crowds of people picking up a copy for an early Christmas present. The event is free of charge.

Recipes in the book include quick and calm suppers like Miso Salmon and Cauliflower and Cashew Nut Curry to stress-free ideas when catering for a crowd like Chicken Traybake with bitter orange &fennel, or the instant joy of bowlfood for cosy nights on the sofa of Thai noodles with cinnamon and prawns. A spokesman for publishers Chatto and Windus said the food was "guaranteed to make everyone feel good".

She added: "Simply Nigella taps into the rhythms of our cooking lives, with recipes that are uncomplicated, relaxed and yet always satisfying."
