A RARE breed dog that bolted from its walker has left a family "devastated."

Oreo, a Tiara Teddy Bear dog, was spooked while his walker took him for a stroll.

Karen Wallace-Jones, Oreo's owner, said she and her children are desperate for someone to find Oreo.

The family pet went missing along the Kennet and Avon Canal near Smallmead Recycling Centre.

Mrs Wallace-Jones, of Caversham, said: "Oreo went missing yesterday, our dog walker out with him, she was clipping the lead on him and dropped it by accident.

"It spooked him and he bolted away from her.

"My two children and I are devastated to say the least."

Oreo is described as a very friendly and approachable dog.

His owners believe he could have ran towards Burghfield.

There is a reward of £200 for anyone who finds Oreo and contacts Mrs Wallace-Jones on 07791577004.

He was wearing a collar and a red retractable lead was attached.
