The body of a woman was found in a house in Caversham after emergency services were called on Friday evening.
Police, two ambulances and the fire service were called to Queen's Road, Caversham, just before 7pm.
Once in the home paramedics discovered the body of a adult woman.
It was believed the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the Berkshire Coroner.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: "The service was called at 18.52pm on Friday and two ambulance crews responded.
"An adult female was discovered at the property and sadly passed away at the scene."
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said officers were called at 7.04pm where a woman was found deceased."
The next of kin were being informed and inquest was due to opened and adjourned over the next week.
