Controversial alternative theorist Graham Hancock will be presenting his new book at Waterstones in Broad Street, Reading.

The former journalist turned author has written a series of books exploring alternative histories and his new book Magicians of the Gods reveals new evidence and research to support his claims of a lost civilisation. It is his second book on his theory with the first Fingerprints of the Gods published in 1995.

As East Africa correspondent of The Economist in the early eighties Graham Hancock began to write a series of highly acclaimed books on economics, politics and foreign aid. In 1992 Graham’s book The Sign and the Seal, that is now in development as a feature film, about the supposed final resting place of the Ark of the Covenant became an international bestseller and marked the beginning of a new career in the field of 'alternative history'. His books have been translated into thirty languages and his public lectures and broadcasts, including two major TV series for Channel 4, Quest for the Lost Civilisation, and Flooded Kingdoms of the Ice Age, have further established his reputation as an unconventional thinker who raises controversial questions about humanity's past.

The 65-year-old will be giving a talk and signing copies of his new book that is released this week at 6.30pm on Tuesday September 29.

Three lucky winners of a Waterstones competition will receive a signed copy Hancock's latest book and the winner will also win a copy of another of his works Fingerprints of the Gods.
