INTERNATIONAL best selling author Lee Child, the creator of action hero Jack Reacher, is set to sign copies talk about his new novel in Reading.

The thriller writer will be at Waterstones in Broad Street, Reading, on Friday, September 18.

He has just had the 20th book featuring Jack Reacher published to add to the 70 million copies sold of the series so far with a Jack Reacher book bought somewhere in the world every 20 seconds.

For three lucky winners of this Waterstones competition there will be signed copies of his best selling novels 'Killing Floor' and 'Die Trying'. The overall winner and two runners up will also get a signed copy of the new novel 'Make Me'.

Lee Child was born in Coventry and went to law school in Sheffield before joining Granada Television for an eighteen-year career as a presentation director. He left in 1995 at the age of 40 as a result of corporate restructuring. Always a voracious reader, he saw an opportunity and wrote Killing Floor, the first in the Jack Reacher series, which was an immediate success.

Child's novels consistently achieve the number one slot in hardback and paperback on bestsellers lists on both sides of the Atlantic, are translated into over forty languages and have all been optioned for major motion pictures. Lee has homes in Manhattan, England and the south of France. He spends his spare time reading, listening to music, and watching the Yankees, Aston Villa, or Marseilles soccer.
