SEVEN people including four children had to be rushed to hospital for treatment after an oven fire last night.
A total of eight residents were evacuated from the West Reading home after an oven fire filled the property with smoke.
Two fire crews were called to the house in Little John's Lane at around 9.30pm yesterday to reports of a kitchen fire.
In all four adults and four children were assessed at the scene by ambulance staff and all but one adult had to be taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
They were not thought to be in a life threatening condition.
A spokesman from South Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 9.27pm last night to reports of a fire.
"Four children and four adults were assessed at the scene and four children and four adults were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
