Reading Abbey Rotary Club is holding a 10k run or a family walk around the Englefield Estate on Sunday.

It is the sixth annual run organised by the the club that meets in the Crown Plaza, Richfield Avenue, Caversham each month

The run on Sunday, August 30, will be around the Englefield Estate, near Pangbourne, complete with deer and rabbits sightings, and entrance costs £13 before Sunday and £15 on the day.

A spokesman for the club said it was this year including a family walk and treasure hunt. For youngsters under 15 years old there is a 3.5k run. The young runner who has raised the most sponsorship will receive a £300 equipment voucher for their school.

President Mike Baker from Rotary Club of Reading Abbey said the registration money will be donated to the charity Hope for Tomorrow. The charity supports people requiring cancer treatment by taking a mobile chemotherapy unit to patients homes. This cuts down the travel for treatment and makes a real difference to lives at such a challenging time.

Mr Baker said: “We are really excited to be holding the 6th annual run and raising money for Hope Tomorrow. It’s an incredible charity we are supporting making a real difference to people requiring cancer treatment”.
