EMMANUEL Nwamadi graced a Wycliffe church when he turned up to cheer on young performers.

The star of The Voice teamed up with charity Creating Better Futures (CBF) - a charity supporting children in Zimbabwe - to host a Jazz Night at Wycliffe Baptist Church on Friday August 7.

The evening kicked off with performances from talented youngsters showcasing their skills, and ended with an African fashion show.

But it was Mr Nwamadi who stole the show on the night, giving an exclusive performance to the 102 supporters who turned up to the event.

Stephan Missah, a resident who turned up on the night said: "The combination of spoken word, music and dance, topped with the special guest Emmanuel made a truly exhilarating event."

The evening was organised by 17-year-old Mayfair Ngondonga, a dedicated CBF supporter.

Mr Ngondonga said organising the event was a challenge and a learning curve, adding: "

I went into this pretty naive if I’m honest, all I knew was that those children had a need and I wanted to use the little experience that I had to meet that need, in whatever way I could. It has been a challenging and at times overwhelming project but nonetheless exciting and rewarding.

"After seeing the end result I can definitely say that it has all been worth it and It has been so wonderful to hear that so many people enjoyed the night."

The event raised more than £800 which will be used to help educate children in need in rural Zimbabwe.
