The outgoing President of the Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh presented her final fundraising cheque to the gardening charity Thrive.
Inger Palmer gave £1,650 to Niamh Kendall a Thrive Horticultural Therapist at its July meeting at Sonning Golf Club, Duffield Road, Sonning On Thames. Niamh said she was delighted to receive the cheque and explained the valuable work of Thrive to the club.
Thrive is the leading charity in the UK that uses gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people who are living with disabilities or ill health, or who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable. This is known as social and therapeutic horticulture. Thrive’s head office and gardens are in Beech Hill, just outside Reading.
