FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue of Paddy the pug on Thursday evening.
Paddy had got his head stuck in the reclining mechanism of a chair at a home in Treeton Close in Lower Earley.
Crews from Wokingham Road and Caversham Road's animal unit were called at 6pm by the dog's owners.
Paddy had been stuck in the chair for about an hour before he was cut free.
Crew manager, Charlie Bell, said: "We called the vet afterwards to make sure he was breathing okay.
"But when we cut him out he just walked out, and seemed unfazed by everything."
