MOTORISTS escaped serious injury after a six vehicle pile-up on the M4 last night (Saturday).
Five cars and a mini bus were in collision on the west bound carriageway between junctions 13 and 14 near Newbury at 8pm.
Police shut the carriageway for 40 minutes to clear the wreckage and for paramedics to treat three people for minor injuries at the roadside.
Crews from Newbury fire station also went to the scene but the victims climbed free of the wreckage before they arrived. Crew manager Alex Dallimore said a sudden hail storm could have caused the crash.
