A FORMER Royals physio is breathing fresh life into a Reading Football Club charity.

Lorna Collis, who teaches the first team pilates and is a part time physio with the club's academy, is reviving The Royal Families, set up by the wives of former club captain Graeme Murty and ex-Reading goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann - Karen Murty and Amanda Hahnemann.

The first event Lorna is organising is a charity race night in aid of the MS Society and Duchess of Kent House on Tuesday from 7.30pm at the Madejski Stadium Princess Suite, which will also be attended by some of the players.

Lorna said: "Working at the club is a great opportunity to raise money for charity! Unfortunately since Graeme Murty and Marcus Hahnemann left the club, along with their wives, very little has been done to raise money in the local community, so I have decided to restart The Royal Families Charity."

There will be up to eight races and a raffle, with prizes including a signed Royals shirt, sports massage and pilates session with Lorna. Horses can be sponsored for 10, with a 30 prize if it wins, and races can be sponsored for 50, which includes free entry.

Tickets are available on the door or in advance from Le Club in the Millennium Madejski Hotel and the STAR cabin.
