THE Spotlights Musical Theatre Group (SMTG), based in Ascot, Sunningdale and Sunninghill, is counting down to their autumn show, Razzle Dazzle, an evening of sparkling entertainment containing songs from some of the best musicals ever: Chicago, West Side Story, Les Miserables, Hairspray, 42nd Street, Kiss Me Kate, The Merry Widow to name but a few.
The concert will be a mixture of big emotional choruses, smaller group singing and solo items all performed by SMTG members.
"We're very lucky to be working with a new music director, Serena Kay", says John Woodward-Roberts, the group's acting chairman.
"A choir master professional and opera singer with international experience she's really getting the best out of us". Serena will lay down her conductor's baton during the concert to sing two beautiful arias from La Guiditta and The Enchantress.
The group has been fundraising through their performances for the last 25 years and their current charity is "Stepping Stones", a charity for children with Downs Syndrome based in Bracknell.
Razzle Dazzle will be performed at the Carnation Hall in Winkfield, Ascot, on the 16 - 17 October 2015 at 730pm. There is a matinee at 230 pm on the 17th.
Tickets at £10 for evenings and £7 for the matinee are now available from the box office on 01344 874177 or you can email spsjb@aol.com

They perform a main show, recently The Pajama Game, each July at The Rose Theatre (part of St.Mary's School Ascot) topped and tailed by an autumn and Christmas concert. The group is approx 40 members strong and sees local charitable fund raising as an important part of its music making. The SMTG is music directed by Serena Kay.
