Thanks to their appearance in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock – and the forthcoming Guitar Hero World Tour – The Sex Pistols are garnering a whole new audience.
Those who want to see what all the fuss should check out the band’s first (officially authorised) concert appearance on DVD, something that's sure to excite not just those who grew up with the band and their era-defining music, but those who’ve been stepping into the band’s virtual shoes.
The DVD was recorded last November at London's Brixton Academy, and features the Pistols' classic, original lineup: Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock.
As well as all the thrills and spills of the evening's entertainment, the DVD also features an exclusive feature by veteran director Julien Temple, whose relationship with the band goes all the way back to punk's 1976 heydey.
"The Knowledge" tours London with each of the band's founding members, revisiting the places that turned the band – and punk itself – into a force that changed the world. It's a must not just for Pistols fans, but for anyone interested in the history of music, and it's out now.
