Reading East MP Rob Wilson is co-organising the third Reading Job Fair
EMPLOYMENT minister Chris Grayling is due to open the Reading Job Fair at pentahotel in Oxford Road at 10am tomorrow.
The Chronicle-sponsored Job Fair, organised by Reading East MP Rob Wilson, Jobcentre Plus and Reading UK CIC, is expected to 1,500 jobseekers hoping to secure one of the 2,000 plus vacancies on offer.
More than 40 exhibitors are taking part, all of whom are recruiting, from blue-chip organisations and retailers to care providers and catering firms. There will also be workshops, including warehousing, HGV driving, CV writing and interview techniques, running throughout the day with jobseekers able to sign up for each on arrival.
Mr Wilson said: "I am delighted to welcome the Employment Minister to Reading to open this, our third, Reading Job Fair. His visit says a great deal about the Government's commitment to tackling unemployment and I thank him for taking the time to support this event, which has been instrumental in securing jobs for my constituents."
The free event runs until 5pm and no booking or registration is necessary.
Hearing loops will also be available and anyone requiring a translator should contact Jobcentre Plus in advance on 0845 606 0234.

Report commentThis is rather like asking Paul Gadd to open a new primary school. Mind you with all these imaginary jobs on offer there must have been some skilled slight-of-hand artists on tap. Now you see it, now it's gone...
