Reading striker Simon Church faces up to a month on the sidelines after breaking his hand in training.

The 19-year-old frontman is currently on loan at Wycombe Wanderers but was training with Reading when he fell awkwardly.

He had to have pins inserted in the broken hand and remains hopeful that he'll be fit to play for Wanderers before his loan spell runs out on December 20.

Hal Robson-Kanu and Gylfi Sigurdsson have both returned to Reading after their respective loan spells at Southend and Shrewsbury came to an end last week.

In other loan news, 18-year-old Nicholas Bignall made his league debut for Northampton last weekend in the 1-0 home defeat against Oldham, while Alan Bennett was in the League Two team of the Week following his impressive display for Brentford in their 3-0 victory at Port Vale.
