Jonno overlooks Kennedy again
By John O'Sullivan
Nick Kennedy
LONDON Irish lock Nick Kennedy has once again been overlooked by England manager Martin Johnson for Saturday's third Autumn International against South Africa.
The World Cup winning skipper has choosen to make just one change from Saturday's 28-14 defeat against Australia, with James Haskell coming in for Tom Croft at blind-side flanker.
This means that the Exiles Delon Armitage keeps his place at full-back after being England's best performer in the opening two Autumn Internationals. But Kennedy once again misses out.
The 6ft 8in second rower impressed with a try-scoring debut against the Pacific Islands two weeks ago, but was replaced by Tom Palmer against Australia last weekend.
Many thought that Kennedy, who leads the Guinness Premiership in lineout wins for the second year in a row, would be brought back in to combat Victor Matfield in the set-piece. But the 27-year-old has been left out of the squad all together.
England: Armitage; Sackey, Noon, Flutey, Monye; Cipriani, Care; Sheridan, Mears, Vickery, Borthwick, Palmer, Haskell, Rees, Easter.
Replacements: Hartley, Stevens, Shaw, Croft, Crane, Ellis, Flood.
