EXILES EXTRA - Irish get their Guy

FORMER London Irish captain Guy Beringer has joined the club’s board with immediate effect.
The 53-year-old, who played at hooker for the Exiles between 1977 and 1987, was a senior partner at interntionally renowned law firm Allen & Overy before retiring earlier this year.
In his playing days, Beringer also won two blues at Cambridge and represented Ulster for two seasons.
Andrew Coppel, chairman of London Irish, said: “I am delighted that Guy has agreed to join our board. Having been at the helm of a major professional services business, he has significant commercial experience.
“His legal skills will complement the expertise of other board members in different areas and I am confident he will make a valuable contribution to our affairs. We are very fortunate to be able to attract individuals of his calibre with a passion for the club.”
IRISH FANS SIGN UP FOR NICK
LONDON Irish fans have started an online petition to convince star lock Nick Kennedy to stay at the Madejski Stadium.
The England star’s contract runs out at the end of the season and he is believed to be on the radar of many top clubs.

RFU PUNISH QUINS HOOKER
HARLEQUINS Argentine hooker Ignacio Elosu has been banned by the RFU for three weeks for a stamp on London Irish flanker Richard Thorpe.
The incident occurred during Exiles’ 32-17 win over Quins in their EDF Energy Cup match on 25 October.
Last week Quins banned the player for four weeks.
