Hugh Faringdon pupils donate food to the homeless

Students at Blessed Hugh Faringdon School in Fawley Road, Southcote, have collected 24 boxes of food for Faith, a Christian charity that works with the poor and homeless in Reading.

Year eight pupil Sophie Gooding said: “It was good to get involved and feel I have helped other people.” Cai Matthews, also in year eight, added: “I thought it was a good thing to do as coming up to Christmas, some people do not have much extra food.”

Each student donated an item and tutor groups filled boxes with gifts including tea, tins, ready meals, Christmas puddings, cakes and mince pies.
