Christmas is coming...
By Annabel Williams
A READING town centre shopping mall welcomes in the festive season in style on Friday.
The Oracle’s Christmas Spectacular starts at 7pm, promising state-of-the-art lighting, specially-designed graphic effects, choreographed pyrotechnics and 1,000 candles floating down the River Kennet.
For the first time, the show takes place on Delphi Bridge, which links Debenhams to Vue cinema at the Riverside, meaning even more room for the crowds of spectators expected to attend.
Steve Belam, general manager, said: “The Christmas Spectacular is a great way to thank our customers for their continued support and to celebrate the start of the festive period.
“The annual performance has become famous in Reading with people coming from all over the region to see the show, and this year’s event will certainly not disappoint - be sure to arrive early to get that prime viewing spot!”
And from December 1, there’s an extra hour to do Christmas shopping on weekdays as The Oracle’s shops open until 9pm.
