A ONE-OFF film screening will raise money for a Tilehurst charity.
Money from the screening of 2007 Christmas film The Nativity Story will go to Prospects, a national charity based in Honey End Lane that works with people with learning difficulties.
Organiser Coral de la Zerda Hoffmann said: “This is a very exciting event. The Nativity Story is a beautiful film that brings a fresh view to this timeless story.
“Prospects is delighted to be able to offer the chance to see this wonderful film to everyone in Reading and benefit people with learning disabilities at the same time.
“Our hope is that this screening will bring out the real meaning of Christmas for all who go and for those that will benefit from the services at Prospects.”
The film stars Keisha Castle-Hughes - who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Whale Rider - and tells the story of Jesus’ birth. It is directed by Catherine Hardwick, distributed by New Line Cinema and is being shown courtesy of Lime Communications.
It will be screened at 10am on Tuesday, November 25, at the Vue cinema by the Oracle Riverside in Reading town centre.
Tickets cost £3 and are only available by calling Prospects on 01189 516 965. Individuals and groups, including schools, are welcome.
