Jobs threat at Theale HQ

BUILDING and plumbing equipment supplier Wolseley would give no indication how the firm's 2,300 job loses would affect its head office at Theale.

The firm, which owns the Plumb Center and Build Center brands, saw profits fall 45% in the last quarter and has announced it will close 200 of its 1,900 branches in the UK.

Wolseley said consultation is about to start and the jobs would be lost in the next few months.
