RAIDERS who broke into a house in Coley stole a Mazda sports car parked in the driveway.

They took the ignition keys to the Mazda RX8 and a laptop computer when they burgled the house in Berkeley Avenue between 7pm on Wednesday and 9am the next day.

Inside the car were 4,000 Taiwanese dollars - worth just over £70 - and police hope the thieves will fall ionto a trap if they try to exchange the unusual notes.

Case investigator Daren Bates, from Reading police station, said: “These dollars are not the normal run of the mill currency held by Bureau de Change offices.

“We would ask that if anyone does receive such currency to contact police via the non-emergency number on 08458 505 505.”
