THIEVES got away with 13 laptops after breaking into Denefield School, Tilehurst, in the early hours of this morning.

The incident at the Long Lane school’s humanities block took place between 12.35-12.50am before the offenders forced their way through a fire door to make their escape.

Denefield spokeswoman Nicky Bell said: “We are still not back in the humanities block and the door is still badly damaged.

“Police were at the school all morning but despite not being able to use the classroom the teaching staff and pupils have been brilliant.

“They have organised themselves and got on with their lessons in other rooms and it’s safe to say that the teaching has not been affected.”

Police are keen to speak to anyone with information about the incident or who has been offered a cheap lap top for sale.

Anyone with any information should contact the police on 0845 8 505 505.
