TWO motorists escaped serious injury after a car crash earlier today (Thursday).

An ambulance and a firecrew rushed to Mereoak Lane, Grazely after a collision between a red Vauxhall Astra and a light blue Mini at 4.20pm.

Both drivers, who were in their 30s were in shock, and the driver of the Vauxhall was treated at the scene for minor cuts and bruises.

Delta crew manager, of Whitley Wood firestation, Lee Glover, said: “Both parties were lucky not to have sustained serious injuries.

“No persons were trapped, but we assisted the ambulance and made sure everything was safe, and disconnected the car batteries.”
