A MAN shoved police out of the way and ran off when they tried to stop him during a burglary patrol.

A police community support officer tried to stop the man in Windrush Way, west Reading, at 4.30pm on Wednesday, September 17, but he pushed past him and ran off towards Amblecote Road.

PC Matt Rees, who is investigating the incident, said: “I am very keen to trace this man because he was in a rush to get away from our officers.

“He has a distinctive scar below his bottom lip which looks like a cigarette burn.”

The man is black, aged 18-20, 5ft7ins and slim. He had a diamond earring in his left ear and wore an Adidas hooded top and tracksuit bottoms. He also wore a black baseball cap bearing a white logo, and a silver hologram logo on the peak.

Contact PC Rees through the police enquiry centre on 0845 8 505 505 or call charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
