FIVE men arrested in connection with the murder of teenager Robert Spence answered bail yesterday and were re-bailed until next month.
The five must return to Lodden Valley Police Station in Earley on October 15.
Nicholas Olu, 30, who is charged with the 17-year-old’s murder, remains in custody.
Former Ryeish Green pupil Robert, known as Junior, was stabbed in St. Mary’s Butts in Reading town centre at around 4am on May 2.
He later died outside Royal Berkshire Hospital’s accident and emergency department.
Detectives still want to speak to people who were in the area at the time of the stabbing, particularly if they spent the evening in nearby nightclub, Mango, in Hosier Street.
Detective Chief Inspector Stan Gilmour, leading the investigation, said: “We have spoken to dozens of people who were in town that night and we are building a much clearer picture of what happened in the lead up to Junior’s murder.
“But we are still trying to contact anyone who was in the town centre - even if it is just to identify them on the CCTV and eliminate them as a possible witness.”
Anyone with any information should contact the murder incident room at Loddon Valley police station via Thames Valley Police’s enquiry centre on 08458 505 505 or charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
