AN AREA of town plagued by car fires has been hit with two more.

A Citroen C2 was torched in the early hours of this morning (Thursday), and the fire spread to a nearby Ford Focus which was also badly damaged.

The cars were parked in Milman Road, Katesgrove, in the centre of a group of streets seemingly plagued by arsonists.

Crew manager Alastair Burleigh of Whitley Wood fire station said: “It definitely seemed deliberate, there’s been a spate of them in this area. Both were well alight by the time we got there just after 2am, and it took us about ten minutes to get the fires under control. I think both will probably be written off.”

Nobody was hurt in the fires, and police are investigating.
