Riders saddle up for funds
Tour de Simplyhealth riders are cheered on by hospice staff as they set off from the Duchess of Kent House
CYCLISTS pedalled their way to fundraising success on Friday.
The team from healthcare business Simplyhealth – which has offices in Winnersh – got on their bikes at the Duchess of Kent House hospice in Liebenrood Road, Southcote.
The day’s cycling was part of a 366-mile, five-day ride around the country, aiming to raise £20,000 for five hospices.
George Solly, the hospice’s fundraising manager, said: “They’ve done an amazing job. They cycled to Winnersh, then to Basingstoke, then Bournemouth. We’re very pleased to be helped in this way. Last year they had a Make a Difference Day and built a shed and raised £4,000, so we have a good connection with them.
“They certainly have made a difference.”
The Tour de Simplyhealth team included Mike Riley, Robert Gladstone, Jane Buxton, Bernie Hurn, Luke Yoell, Gary Billington and Simon Inman. To donate, visit www.justgiving. com/simplyhealth
