ENGLAND rugby star Mike Tindall pleaded guilty to drink driving but had his case adjourned until October.

Richard Mallet, defending, told Reading magistrates that the Gloucester and England centre wished to argue "special reasons" in mitigation.

The case was adjourned until October 24 at Newbury Magistrates' Court where the defence is expected to call eight witnesses and submit medical evidence.

The 29-year-old World Cup winner from Hampton Fields, Gloucestershire, is accused of driving with excess alcohol when he was stopped by police near Junction 13 of the M4 in his Range Rover Sport last March.

Zara Phillips' boyfriend Tindall was found to have 91mgs of alcohol in a 100mls sample of blood. The legal limit is 80mgs.
