Printer Print Article

A MIDDLE-AGED cyclist is seriously ill in hospital after a road smash at Charvil yesterday (Monday) evening.

Police say a silver Vauxhall Vectra collided with the 57-year-old man as he cycled across the A4 roundabout on the Old Bath Road near the Texaco garage at 5.40pm.

The cyclist was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with a fractured leg and serious head injuries and is in a serious condition.

PC Simon Nelson wants to hear from witnesses and said: “This stretch of road is very busy, particularly at this time of the day. I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or who may have seen the silver Vauxhall Vectra beforehand.”

Contact PC Nelson via the Police Enquiry Centre 08458 505 505.
