A PAINTBALLING company has joined The Chronicle’s Value for Valour campaign in support of our Armed Forces personnel.

Skirmish Paintball Games will give anyone who produces an MOD 90 identification card 10% off its prices.

A full day of games starts at £37.50 including use of 600 paint pellets and a gun, a camouflaged overall and safety equipment, and a hot meal at lunchtime.

Games last around 30 minutes with teams usually made up of 20-30 players, but up to 200 people can be accommodated on the firm’s 16 acres of woodland in Lane End, near High Wycombe.

Value for Valour is a campaign to encourage leisure venues across Berkshire to offer discounts to military servicemen and women returning from or going to conflict zones around the world.

Skirmish bills paintballing as “combining teamwork, strategy and quick thinking”, and director Bob Goodall said: “We’ve always given emergency service personnel a discount and those in the Armed Forces too, it goes without saying that they deserve it.

“They look after our security whether you like what they’re doing or not.

“We’ve had some guards from Windsor play a week before being deployed to Afghanistan.

“It seems a strange thing for them to want to do when they’re doing it with live rounds for a living, but they do seem to enjoy it.”
