POLICE are hunting youths who hurled missiles at a bus in Southcote, smashing two windows.

The Reading Buses 143 service was travelling towards Reading along Bath Road, near the Circuit Lane junction, when the driver noticed a group of youths walking towards his vehicle.

As he drove past them, he heard a loud band as two windows on the cream double decker were smashed.

The yobs then ran off.

No-one was injured in the attack, which happened at 10.25pm on Saturday, February 2, despite there being passengers on board the Mortimer/Reading service at the time.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Thames Valley Police at their 24-hour enquiry centre on 08458 505505, or talk to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Yobs are the bane of Reading at the moment. What are they doing OUT at that time of night? Is it time to consider curfews?
