Van driver stuck in ford
A VAN driver had to be rescued from a 4ft deep ford on Thursday.
Firefighters were called to the stranded driver at 1pm and had to use their rescue boat to get to the van which was stuck in the middle of Lands End ford in Charvil.
Two fire engines, a rescue appliance and the boat were sent to the ford in Park Lane and eventually towed the van from the ford.
Wokingham Road fire station watch manager Phil Holdford said: “At this time of year and with the amount of rain we’ve been having drivers need to think before they attempt to drive through a 4ft deep ford.”
