Reading Chronicle Customer Service Awards 2008

THOSE who give great service in Reading’s stores, bars and restaurants are once again in line for great prizes with the launch of the Reading Chronicle Customer Service Awards 2008.
The Chronicle has once again teamed up with all the town’s major players; Reading Borough Council, The Oracle, The Broad Street Mall and Reading UK CIC, along with main sponsors, the Millennium Madejski Hotel, to recognise the efforts of those who make Reading a great place to eat, drink and shop.
There are two categories, stores and bars/restaurants and three great prizes in each, all supplied by the hotel.
The prizes are:
- A luxury weekend for two in Paris
- A year’s membership to Le Club, the Millennium Madejski Hotel’s health and fitness suite
- A meal for two at Cilantro, the hotel’s two rosette restaurant
That is six great prizes and all winners get a trophy. There is also a trophy for the store, bar or restaurant that gives the best overall impression.
A shortlist will be drawn up and mystery shoppers will be out to put shortlisted candidates to the test before the winners are selected on a points basis.
The competition culminates in a lavish award ceremony at the Millennium Madejski Hotel in the summer.
You can win prizes just for nominating someone. We have £200 in shopping vouchers to give away in a prize draw. Everyone who nominates someone goes into the draw and the winner gets vouchers worth £100 while two runners up get vouchers worth £50. The vouchers are a combination of Oracle gift cheques and Argos vouchers.
You can enter anyone who works in a store, bar or restaurant that is open to the public and is in Reading. It can be someone you simply want to thank for their care and good service or it could be your manager, a member of your staff or a colleague. The only restriction is you cannot enter yourself.
